1   Pretreatment and Clarification
 

Use of surface water is the generally preferred alternative as high flow rates are common in Pulp & Paper processes. Therefore, removal of suspended and dissolved solids is critical in order to be suitable as process water, for steam generation or cooling system make-up.

7   Chemical Recovery Process
 

The objective of the chemical recovery process is to turn residual by-products of the fiber process into heat and recover valuable inorganic substances for its reuse in the digester.
